Our legacy provider Dr. Karen Barwick introduces Dr. Jimiskumar Patel!
My greatest hope for our practice has been realized in the person of Dr. Jim Patel. After several years planning for the continuity of the practice, good fortune led me to Dr. Patel. As the new owner, he brings an abiding care for his patients and exemplary skills as a practitioner. I could not be more overjoyed for you, my patient family, and my team who Dr. Patel has embraced as they have him.
I have been planning this transition over the last several years. Shaken by events beginning in 2016 by a serious automobile accident, the passing of “Mama Doc” and COVID, I realized the challenge of searching for a leader who could continue the kind of practice that my team and I have built over the past 35 years. No one under consideration came near meeting my expectations until Dr. Patel.
Dr. Patel is internationally trained, earning a degree in India and an Advanced Standing dental degree at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2018, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He was also recognized as the Outstanding Dental Student in Implant Dentistry. He practiced dentistry from June 2018 until October 2021 in Conway, South Carolina. He then relocated to Kinston, North Carolina (yes, my hometown!) with his wife and 3-year-old daughter where he practiced with his brother, Nirjal Patel, DMD. The Patels enjoy traveling and meeting new people, and getting together and spending time with their very extensive families.

Michelle McGee
Dental Hygienist / Resident Baker
Michelle McGee graduated from Hygiene school at UNC in 2011 and joined our practice full time in 2015.
She loves the UNC Tarheels! Michelle enjoys baking and spending time with her husband, Allen, and her two children, Taylor and Connor!
She has such a sweet personality and truly dedicates herself to our office and our patients.
Michelle is our “resident baker” and boy can she bake!!!!!! We think that she thinks if she feeds us enough sugar, we will become “sweet”!!! Keep trying!
She loves the UNC Tarheels! Michelle enjoys baking and spending time with her husband, Allen, and her two children, Taylor and Connor!

Michelle Day
Practice Manager
Michelle joined our practice in 1994 as Dr. Barwick’s Chairside Assistant. She graduated with Honors from Alamance Community College in 1991 as a Dental Assistant II, and immediately sat for and completed her Certified Dental Assistant Credentials.
Michelle assisted Dr. Barwick until 2005 at which time she became our Front Office Manager.
She has an incredible personality, loves to make everyone laugh and loves to sing Gospel Music. In her free time, you can find Michelle creating Blooms and Blessings in her she shed and spending time with her husband Kenneth and sons. She makes life around the office SO MUCH FUN!!!

Rolla Brown
Insurance Coordinator
Rolla joined our team in 2001 after having been in the medical field 12 years. She is an integral part of our Front Office Team and serves as our Insurance Coordinator. She is responsible for all of the “quirky” Social Media posts that emanate from our various Social Media sites.
You can enjoy Rolla’s smiling face on Mondays and any other times that her Team needs her presence.
Rolla is an AVID music fan who enjoys the outdoors, traveling, exercising and spending time with her friends and family.

Vicki McBane
Financial Coordinator
Vicki joined our Team as Financial Coordinator in July 2014.
Originally from West Virginia, she came to North Carolina to study Business and Accounting at Guilford College.
She and her husband, Don, have lived in Eli Whitney for over 29 years. Together, they enjoy traveling the USA, baseball, bluegrass music, and spending time with family.

Amanda Huffman
Dental Assistant
Amanda is a 2013 Graduate of our Dental Assistant Training Center (DATC) and joined our team in April 2021.
She grew up in Caswell County and enjoys the country life with her husband Andrew, their daughter Natalie, son Cason and pup Duke. She also enjoys walking, crafting, and attending church.
Amanda has a caring and compassionate heart and is a blessing to all who know her.
