All-on-X and traditional dentures can both replace a full upper or lower arch of missing or failing teeth. The difference is how they are supported and how they function day to day.
Traditional removable dentures
A traditional denture rests on the gums and is removed by the patient for cleaning. Dentures can be a practical option for many patients, especially when implants are not the right fit or when a removable solution is preferred.
Dentures may need adjustments over time as the mouth changes.
All-on-X fixed implant bridge
All-on-X uses strategically placed dental implants to support a fixed full-arch bridge. The “X” means the number of implants is planned to the patient. Four implants are common, but some patients need a different number.
For many qualified patients, fixed temporary teeth may be attached the day implants are placed. The final custom bridge is secured after healing and integration.
Which is right for you?
Candidacy depends on bone support, gum health, bite forces, restoration space, medical history, and maintenance expectations. A 3D scan and consultation help clarify what is realistic.
